Appeal case number

The appeal case number is the number assigned to a patent application when it enters the appeal procedure. It is made up of a letter for the type of decision, then a four-digit sequential number, followed by another two digits representing the year, e.g. T0500 13.

IMPORTANT: If using the longer format make sure you leave a space between the first four case digits and the last two year digits.

You can use the following formats and field identifiers to search in the Smart search mask:

  • apl = T0500

  • apl = "T0500 14"

  • appeal = "T0500 14"

  • appeal = T0500
