Misleading Register Alert event notification on 15.04.19

Following a clean-up exercise of event information regarding (previously) revoked patents, that were later reinstated, some existing revocation events ("Despatch of communication that patent is revoked") were duplicated on 15.04.2019.

What happens if I click the ST36 button?

What does "patent family" mean?

A patent family is a group of patents which are all related to each other, in this case by way of the priority or priorities of a particular patent document.

What are "equivalents"?

"Equivalents" - or "equivalent applications" - are members of a patent family that have the same priority. They are often referred to as "corresponding documents".

Which types of document will I find under "Patent family"?

You can find four types of documents: D (divisional), E (equivalent), M (patent family member), P (earlier application).

What does A1, A2, A3 and B stand for after a publication number?

When a European patent application is published together with the search report, it is known as an A1 publication. When this application is published without the search report, it is an A2 document. The search report is then published later as an A3 document. When the patent is granted, it is published as a B document.
